Eoin Morgan Backs India to Win, Praises Arshdeep & Babar

Dubai, Feb 16: In the latest episode of Mr. Cricket UAE former England World Cup–winning captain Eoin Morgan appeared as the special guest in a powerful and engaging conversation hosted by Mr. Anis Sajan.

The episode delivered strong insights into team selection, player temperament under pressure, and T20 World Cup favourites, drawing attention from cricket fans across the region.

Morgan Backs Arshdeep Singh Over Kuldeep Yadav

Commenting on speculation that India may drop Arshdeep Singh and bring in Kuldeep Yadav, Morgan said:

“For me, I don’t think it is a wise idea. I would go swing over seam or even the left-arm angle over spin, simply because of the conditions. If we were playing at a different ground or even at the same ground during the day, that would give me more hope about picking a wrist-spinner or variation spinners. So I would look forward to as many options as I could, different angles, swing bowlers, cross-seam bowlers, or someone with a good slower ball and that tends to lend itself to Arshdeep Singh.”

Morgan on Babar Azam: “Experience Matters Under Pressure”

Speaking about Pakistan captain Babar Azam, Morgan added:

“For me, I would pick Babar Azam in my team. I say this because of the heightened pressure of the match. In pressure situations, people tend to make errors the majority of the time. Bear in mind, each and every player in the Pakistan squad is capable of doing great things. Babar Azam has always done great things. If conditions are favourable for batting, that lends itself even more to Babar Azam. Under pressure, you want experienced players making simple decisions.”

Tournament Favourite: India

When asked who will win, Morgan replied:

“India, for me. They are simply too good and not just too good for Pakistan. They’re too good for many teams in this tournament.”
