Prime Video Unveils Official Trailer for Deadloch Season Two – Premieres Globally March 20

SYDNEY, Feb 18: Prime Video today released the official trailer for the highly anticipated second season of the global hit Australian Prime Original series, Deadloch. The six-part crime comedy, created by Kate McCartney and Kate McLennan, launches globally on March 20 in more than 240 countries and territories. The first two episodes will premiere on launch day, with new episodes released weekly, leading up to the season finale on April 17.

Set in Australia’s sweltering Top End, Season Two marks Deadloch’s shift from Tassie Noir to Tropical Gothic, as detectives Dulcie Collins (Kate Box) and Eddie Redcliffe (Madeleine Sami) investigate the death of Eddie’s former policing partner, Bushy. Their plans are disrupted when a body part is discovered in the remote town of Barra Creek, coinciding with a large-scale search for two missing backpackers.

Navigating crocodile-fuelled tourism, overstretched Indigenous rangers, cagey locals, and seven-metre prehistoric predators, Dulcie and Eddie find themselves unraveling a web of secrets beneath the town’s surface, balancing humor, suspense, and drama in equal measure.

Returning cast members include Kate Box, Madeleine Sami, Nina Oyama, and Alicia Gardiner, while new faces joining Season Two are Luke Hemsworth, Steve Bisley, Shari Sebbens, Jean Tong, Genevieve Morris, and many others, promising fresh energy and dynamic storytelling.

“We cannot wait to share Season Two of Deadloch with fans worldwide on March 20,” said Sarah Christie, Head of Australian and New Zealand Originals, Amazon MGM Studios.

“Season One proved that authentic and bold storytelling transcends borders, fast becoming a critical and cultural phenomenon. Kate McCartney and Kate McLennan have delivered another brilliant, funny, and moving season set in the utterly unique Top End.”

Creators Kate McCartney and Kate McLennan added,

“It’s time to get your cargo shorts and stubby holders ready because Season Two of Deadloch is about to be unleashed globally. Get ready to get a bit sticky, a bit sweaty, and maybe even a bit wet with us in the Top End.”

Deadloch Season One became a breakout success, entering the Top 10 TV Shows in more than 165 countries and territories on Prime Video, including the U.S., UK, and Canada. The series won five AACTA Awards, including Best Acting in a Comedy for Kate Box and Best Screenplay in Television for McCartney and McLennan, and earned an International Emmy nomination.

Season Two is produced by Guesswork Television, OK Great Productions, and Amazon MGM Studios, with executive producers Kate McCartney, Kate McLennan, Kevin Whyte, Tanya Phegan, and Ben Grogan. Andy Walker serves as producer, with direction by Beck Cole and Gracie Otto.

Since 2019, Prime Video has commissioned 31 Australian Prime Original series and features, including titles such as The Test, Making Their Mark, LOL: Last One Laughing Australia, Back to the Rafters, Deadloch, The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart, and many more, cementing its commitment to Australian storytelling on a global stage.
