Mar, 30 :One of India’s most versatile and celebrated actors, Alia Bhatt continues to evolve with intention, honesty, and quiet strength. In the March-April 2026 issue of Femina, she offers a deeply introspective look into her journey, one that goes beyond stardom to explore self worth, vulnerability, motherhood, and the constant process of unlearning and growing. In a candid conversation, Alia reflects on what it truly means to find balance in a world that is always watching.
Looking back at her relationship with success and failure, Alia shares,
“If I’m able to get through a tough time or a difficult moment with a lot of self love, self belief, and my world doesn’t shatter and crumble to the ground, I’d find that way more successful than a ‘successful moment’.”
Emphasising the importance of nurturing one’s inner self, she adds,
“Take care of yourself. Live, breathe, watch, observe, learn. Don’t neglect yourself. Don’t neglect that inner person that needs that comfort and peace.”
About motherhood and how it continues to reshape her life, Alia says,
“Raha is about three-and-a-half now. It’s very different from what it was one year ago. Needs are different, personalities are different. So, it’s constant learning.”
As a producer, Alia is drawn to narratives that leave a lasting emotional imprint
“As a storyteller, I think what I’m excited about is stories with a lot of heart. Where the feeling of the film doesn’t leave you once the film is over.”
Looking ahead, she speaks about her upcoming film Alpha, backed by Yash Raj Films, and what inspired her to take on the project.
“It’s a genre that I’m betting on, and one that has not been accepted in the past, in India at least. I believe, deep in my heart, that if the story is powerful and if the story connects, it doesn’t matter who’s leading it, or whether the protagonist is male or female.”
