Renowned actress & singer, Monali Thakur inaugurated the store in the presence of the founders, Mehuli Goswami Thakur, Sanchita Chatterjee & Sarbani Basu Thakur.

Established in 2004, Bandhabi The Store has steadily carved a niche for itself through its commitment to authentic organic fabrics and handcrafted artistry. Founded by artist and designer Mehuli Goswami Thakur, the brand specialises in sarees, kaftaans, kurtis, gowns, tops, and contemporary silhouettes crafted from pure organic silk, tussar, and cotton sourced from different states of India. Every fabric is individually hand painted or hand embroidered by skilled artisans associated with the house of Bandhabi, making each creation unique and deeply rooted in Indian craftsmanship.
At the core of Bandhabi’s philosophy lies a conscious attempt to promote skin-friendly, climate-appropriate fabrics suited for tropical countries like India. The brand advocates the use of natural textiles devoid of polyester blends, encouraging mindful fashion that is both elegant and practical.
