Sung by Arijit Singh, composed by Amaal Malik and written by Rashmi-Virag, the song is soaked in the love, longing and redemption that have always been the Awarapan universe’s calling card, and it’s the kind of track that sneaks up on you and stays.
In Yeh Awarapan, Emraan Hashmi wears intensity like a second skin; raw, brooding, and unmistakably emotional. It’s the kind of song that doesn’t try too hard to move you; it just does. Arijit’s voice, Amaal’s composition and Rashmi-Virag’s words sit together so effortlessly, it’s hard to imagine one without the other on this track. Yeh Awarapan isn’t just a song for the film, it feels like it was always meant to exist within Shivam Pandit’s world.
For Vishesh Bhatt, this one’s personal too. Arijit’s very first Hindi film song came from a Vishesh Films production, and years later, the association is still going strong, this time with a song that carries the same emotion, depth and timelessness that’s defined their journey together.
