Mumbai, Aug 19: For many young Indians who grow up in non-metropolitan cities, Mumbai becomes a natural destination to chase their dreams. But what happens when you finally arrive and discover that the city is nothing like the version you imagined?

Actor Saloni Daini & Content Creator Radhika Guglani Bring BOM COM to Instagram

Actor and comedian Saloni Daini and digital creator Radhika Guglani explore the gap between expectation and reality with BOM COM, a 10-episode comedy mockumentary-style micro-series created for Instagram.

The series follows two best friends from Indore as they navigate the unpredictable and often chaotic world of Mumbai. Arriving with romanticised notions of the city, they soon encounter crowded streets, unexpected situations, awkward moments, everyday struggles and the many smaller experiences that make life in Bombay both challenging and hilarious.

At the heart of BOM COM is the friendship between Saloni and Radhika. While both come from simple backgrounds, their contrasting personalities and perspectives bring a distinct dynamic to the series. Saloni brings the energy of someone who knows how to navigate the city’s madness, while Radhika brings the perspective of someone discovering and interpreting the chaos around her. Their natural chemistry becomes a key part of the show’s humour and storytelling.

Rather than presenting Mumbai through its familiar cinematic lens, BOM COM finds comedy in the ordinary figuring out the city’s unwritten rules, navigating friendships and work, dealing with social situations, and finding humour in the challenges of everyday life.

The mockumentary format gives the series a candid and conversational quality, allowing the protagonists to break the fourth wall and react to situations as they unfold. Created specifically for Instagram’s short-form audience, BOM COM combines quick-paced storytelling and character-led comedy while building a larger narrative across 10 episodes.

Saloni Daini

“BOM COM is my first project as a producer, and I’ve honestly had the best time making it. Mumbai has always been close to my heart, and documenting its people, madness and magic has been such a beautiful experience. This is just the beginning, with many more stories and series to come. If you’re from Bombay or planning to move here, BOM COM is the perfect little series to get to know the city, fall in love with it, and have some fun along the way. ”

Radhika Guglani

“BOM COM is especially close to my heart because the story feels so familiar. I came to Mumbai with dreams, excitement and a little uncertainty, just like our characters. It wasn’t always easy, but through the struggles and challenges, I slowly fell in love with the city. What was once unfamiliar eventually felt like home. So many moments in BOM COM hit close to home for me, and I hope you love watching it as much as I loved being a part of it. ”

The first three episodes of BOM COM are now live on Instagram, with new episodes dropping every alternate day through the end of August, as the story continues to unfold.
