Amity Institute of Training & Development, Amity University Noida campus, is hosting a five–day Teacher Immersion Program for the Royal Government of Bhutan, from August 25 to 29, 2026. The programme brings together 40 school-level teachers from Bhutan for an immersive academic and professional development experience focused on contemporary teaching practices, innovation in education, leadership, and the exchange of knowledge and best practices.
The inaugural session marked the beginning of a comprehensive programme designed to provide participating teachers with exposure to innovative pedagogical approaches, technology-enabled learning, experiential education, and emerging trends in the higher and education landscape.
The Bhutanese delegation was led by their team leader Mr. Karma Tenzin. Addressing the gathering, Mr. Tenzin averred that Amity University is aligned with Cambridge curriculum, which has been introduced in our country from this academic session. “Our main focus is to gain deeper insights into the Cambridge curriculum, learn some good practices during the program, and learn about the use of AI tools in teaching pedagogy. We would also like to explore new methodologies of teaching which align with the Cambridge curriculum.”, he added.Addressing the gathering, Dr. Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, said, “Teachers play a crucial role in nurturing the future leaders. The Teacher Immersion Program reflects Amity University’s commitment to promoting international academic cooperation and contributing to the professional development of educators through knowledge exchange and global exposure. Welcoming the guests, Brig. R.K. Sharma, Director, Amity Institute of Training & Development, said that the programme aims to foster long-term organizational engagement and institutional collaboration between Bhutan and India, while creating a platform for educators to share their experiences, challenges, and successful practices.
Prof. Dr. Alka Mudgal, Head of Institution, Amity Institute of Education, outlined the structure of 5-day Teacher Immersion Program with an assurance that each session would feature distinct engaging and interactive activities to keep participants involved throughout the week, while integrating the cultural richness across sessions.
The five–day programme will feature a range of academic sessions, interactive workshops, expert-led discussions, experiential learning activities, and institutional activities.
