Sep 11: The CineKind Awards Night 2026, a first-of-its-kind national initiative by the Film Federation of India in association with People for Animals, celebrates individuals and stories that promote kindness, empathy and animal welfare.
The awards recognise filmmakers, actors, journalists, innovators and grassroots changemakers who use their influence to create a more compassionate society.
Among the distinguished honourees are Anant Ambani, John Abraham, Raveena Tandon, Wamiqa Gabbi, Kalyan Varma, Amit Rai and Rajan Shahi, alongside organisations and individuals working towards animal welfare and social change.
The Film Federation of India serves as the apex body representing various sections of the Indian film industry, including producers, distributors, exhibitors and allied trades. Its partner for the CineKind initiative, People for Animals, is an animal welfare organisation founded and chaired by Maneka Sanjay Gandhi, with work spanning rescue, rehabilitation, advocacy and public awareness.
Together, the organisations seek to place compassion at the intersection of cinema, culture and social responsibility.
With a distinguished jury comprising names such as Sonu Sood, Hema Malini, Zeenat Aman, Sonakshi Sinha and Shriya Saran, CineKind aims to spotlight a powerful message: cinema can entertain, inspire and create meaningful change.
