Bollywood Drama Takes Over Google

As the festive season brings out the emotion, chaos, and colour that could rival any Bollywood blockbuster, Google drops its latest twist — AI Mode on Search, a new feature that lets you search smarter than ever before.

Picture this: you ask a complex, multi-layered question — and instead of links, you get a complete, conversational, AI-powered answer that unpacks everything for you. You can go deeper, ask follow-ups, and keep the conversation going — because AI Mode remembers it all. Basically, it’s your all-knowing, never-judging search companion.

And who better to introduce this new hero than Bollywood itself?

Conceptualised by the creative powerhouse Bare Bones Collective — the witty minds behind the viral GenZ Chudail and Gangoogly campaign — the launch unfolds as a two-part digital film series supported with influencer activation, which is a hilarious ode to Bollywood tropes we can’t get enough of.

In the video with Farah Khan and Dilipji, Dilip is swapped out for Google Search’s new AI Mode to take over the kitchen—chaos management, Farah-approved!

The first film saw a young man wanting to impress his girlfriend’s father during festival season. When his efforts to decorate the home fail, he turns to AI Mode. With its smart, step-by-step guidance, he transforms the home into a festive spectacle, earning the father’s approval and the honorary title of Festihul Tyohari.

The second film flips the trope — showcasing the quintessential heroine ki entry. We see Riya making a dazzling entrance at a festive party, flaunting her show-stopping look — effortlessly put together with a little help from Google’s AI Mode. From outfit inspiration to accessory ideas, AI Mode guides her every step of the way, ensuring her entry is nothing short of a blockbuster moment.

Launched as India dives head-first into the festive frenzy, the campaign reimagines Google Search as your everyday problem-solver — helping you plan smarter, shop faster, decorate better, and celebrate without losing your mind.

From “how to impress an angry father” to “best last-minute Diwali gifts”, AI Mode has the answers (and the patience).

Bare Bones Collective keeps the tone light, playful, and self-aware — celebrating the most dramatic season of the year in the most dramatic way possible. Because let’s face it — no one does over-the-top emotions quite like us.
