PVR INOX Presents ‘September Cinema Splash’: Kickstarting the Month With Blockbusters Across Genres

National, 2nd September 2025: PVR INOX, India’s largest cinema chain, is opening September with an eclectic mix of films that promise to draw audiences of every taste back to the big screen. From franchise-driven spectacles and emotionally charged dramas to experimental formats and global horror phenomena, the first week of the month marks a powerful start to the festive season for cinema lovers.

The Hindi action entertainer Baaghi 4 leads the charge with Tiger Shroff returning to his most popular franchise, supported by Harnaaz Sandhu, Sonam Bajwa, and Sanjay Dutt in a menacing turn. Adding to the action lineup is Madharasi, a Tamil thriller directed by A.R. Murugadoss and headlined by Sivakarthikeyan, with Rukmini Vasanth and Vidyut Jammwal adding star power to a story rooted in grit and drama. Ghaati further fuels the action quotient, featuring Anushka Shetty in a commanding role alongside Vikram Prabhu under the direction of Krish Jagarlamudi.

On the global front, Warner Bros’ The Conjuring: Last Rites arrives as the much-awaited final chapter in the long-running Conjuring Universe. Based on true events, the film sees Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga return as paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. Early reactions suggest it is one of the franchise’s most emotional and terrifying entries, promising an unforgettable theatrical experience.

Adding a sharp contrast to the high-stakes action and horror, Ufff Yeh Siyapaa offers audiences a rare experiment in modern cinema – a wordless dark comedy featuring Sohum Shah, Nushrratt Bharuccha, and Nora Fatehi, with a musical score by A.R. Rahman. The trailer has sparked conversations for its unconventional approach. The film itself is expected to blend comedy with a dark edge, making it one of the most unique offerings of the month

Closing out the lineup is The Bengal Files, directed by Vivek Agnihotri. With an ensemble cast led by Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, and Pallavi Joshi, the film presents a hard-hitting narrative that is expected to stir debate and discussion, adding weight to the week’s releases with its socio-political commentary.

Speaking about the strong start to September, Mr. Gautam Dutta, CEO – Revenue and Operations, PVR INOX Limited, said: “At PVR INOX, we have always believed that cinema is at its best when it brings people together for diverse experiences. This opening week of September is a reflection of that belief. With Bollywood, regional, and Hollywood films releasing simultaneously, audiences will have a wide spectrum of stories to choose from. It is not just about entertainment, but also about celebrating the many ways in which films can connect with people.”

With IMAX, 4DX, and SCREENX formats across India, PVR INOX continues to offer audiences immersive viewing experiences that match the scale of the films being released. September Cinema Splash is more than just a release lineup – it is a celebration of cinema’s ability to entertain, thrill, and move audiences in equal measure.
