New Delhi: Le Rythme, a renowned philanthropic trust dedicated to promoting cultural harmony, inclusivity, and social empowerment, hosted an unforgettable evening – “Bijoya Sammilini” – at Maharashtra Sadan, New Delhi in association with GAIL and SBI. The program celebrated the spirit of Bijoya Dashami – the victory of good over evil, light over darkness, and compassion over indifference – through an enchanting confluence of music and human connection.The event was graced by three distinguished Chief Guests – Shri Devesh Chandra Srivastava, Special Commissioner, Delhi Police Crime Branch; Shri Dnyaneshwar Mulay, Former Secretary, Ministry of External Affairs and Member, National Human Rights Commission; and Shri Shiv Shankar Mukherjee, Former High Commissioner of India to the United Kingdom . Their esteemed presence elevated the occasion, bringing together art, diplomacy, and public service in a shared celebration of cultural unity and compassion.

The evening opened with an array of mesmerising musical performances that captivated the audience from the very first note. Eminent singers Shamik Pal, Somdutta Banerjee, Priyangbada Banerjee, and Piyali Halder graced the stage with their soulful renditions, filling the air with melody and devotion. The serene and elegant ambience of Maharashtra Sadan provided the perfect backdrop for a night that blended divinity, artistry, and heartfelt emotion. Somdatta Banerjee, the renowned singer of Kolkata, captivated audience with her melodious renditions. She started with Oje Mane na Mana, followed by Salil Chowdhury’s Na mono lagena , and Sachin Deb Burman’s Mono dilona Badhu. Jo wada kiya, na jane kyoun and Kajra mohabbat wala made the audience to Wah Wah*
A special highlight of the evening was a touching performance by Riya Mukherjee, daughter of eminent singer Late Smt Rini Mukherjee. Her heartfelt rendition was a tribute to her mother’s artistic legacy and the trust’s continued commitment to spreading compassion through art and culture. Adding depth and inspiration to the evening were performances by singers from backward communities and autistic individuals, whose courage and talent deeply moved the audience. Their participation symbolised Le Rythme’s enduring mission – to provide equal opportunities for all and to use music as a bridge between privilege and possibility.
The event received generous sponsorship from ECGC, GAIL, SBI, and Canara Bank, whose support underscored the shared belief in inclusive cultural growth and social upliftment. The guests and invitees, elegantly attired, brought colour and vibrancy to the evening, which shimmered with emotion, grace, and festive spirit.
The performances were so enthralling that the audience, including all the chief guests, remained completely immersed throughout, unaware that four hours had passed in what felt like mere moments. Each song, each performance, and each note created an atmosphere of togetherness and serenity that lingered long after the event concluded.
Beyond its musical brilliance, Bijoya Sammilini carried a noble purpose – to inspire donations and support for the upliftment of backward classes, autistic individuals, and differently-abled children. Every contribution made during the evening will go toward empowering these communities through education, training, and creative development.
