Mumbai, October 13: Vidya Balan recently opened up about how her journey into Bollywood’s limelight was shaped by a powerful wish—and perhaps a little bit of the universe’s magic. Sharing a personal story with her fans, the acclaimed actress recalled how a song and a silent dream led her to her breakthrough role in Parineeta.
While enjoying the classic track “Seekho Na Naino Ki Bhasha Piya”, Vidya was instantly captivated by the music, lyrics, and its poetic visual storytelling. Deeply moved, she began to dream of working with a filmmaker like Pradeep Sarkar, the visionary behind the song’s direction.
Unaware at the time, this quiet wish seemed to set something in motion. A few years later, fate brought her into Sarkar’s world—first through an ad film, and then through several music videos. This growing creative association with Sarkar and his team, which included composer Shantanu Moitra, vocalist Shubha Mudgal, and writer Nivedita Joshi, eventually culminated in Vidya landing her debut film, Parineeta.
The role not only launched her career but also became a defining moment in Indian cinema, marking the arrival of a powerful performer with grace, depth, and charm.
Reflecting on the journey, Vidya credited the sequence of events to what many call the Law of Attraction—the idea that desires, when deeply felt, can manifest into reality. While she stopped short of labeling it outright, she expressed deep gratitude for how life unfolded, embracing the serendipity that led her from admiration to actual collaboration.
As she shared this heartfelt story, Vidya reminded fans to cherish their dreams and remain open to the unseen forces that often guide them.
