Aug 20: Chand Tara , The Legend of Taramati The Indian historical that made waves at Cannes Film Festival recently receives heartwarming response at the Special Screening at Mumbai Lok Bhavan

Chand Tara: The Legend of Taramati,, written and directed by Padmashri Mohammad Ali Baig, was screened today at a special preview held at Lok Bhavan, Malabar Hill, Mumbai, in the presence of the Governor of Maharashtra, Shri Jishnu Dev Varma.
The screening was attended by several noted names from the worlds of theatre, cinema and music, including Dr Mohan Agashe, Rohini Hattangady, singer Vasundhara Das, Aanjjan Srivastav, Ila Arun, Arif Zakaria, K. K. Raina and Ranjana Aanjjan Srivastava, among others.
The Governor appreciated the film and expressed that he enjoyed the music, performances, sets and the entire presentation of the film, watching Chand Tara: The Legend of Taramati He also spoke about his association with Baig and expressed his interest in working with Mohammad Ali Baig in the future.
Speaking about the special screening, Mohammad Ali Baig said, It was a delight to present Chand Tara: The Legend of Taramati at Lok Bhavan thanked the Hon’ble Governor for hosting its exclusive screening. I am grateful for his appreciation and for the warmth with which the film was received. It was also wonderful to have friends and colleagues from the worlds of theatre, cinema and music come together for this special screening.
Also present at the screening were actresses Ranjana Srivastava, who plays the heroine in Chand Tara: The Legend of Taramati and Reshma Shetty.
Ila Arun felt,
“It was amazing. From its writing, to performances, lyrics and music, everything was breathtaking”. BAFTA winning actress Rohini Hattangady said she was mesmerised by what she saw”.
Following its screening at Cannes, Chand Tara: The Legend of Taramati now embarks on its journey to Venice and Toronto, marking another significant milestone for the film. Cinema legend Bimal Roy’s daughter Rinki Bhattacharya said,
“The production values and costumes added to the rich cinematic texture. Kudos to Baig”.
