Sep 23: One of Indian hip-hops compelling voices, Panther returns with ‘Charag’, a three track album that brings together three distinct sides of the artist; his hunger for success, the people and experiences that have shaped him and his softer side when it comes to love and belonging. The album features ‘Rahees’, ‘Mijaaz’ and ‘Thikana’, giving listeners a more personal look at the artist behind the music.
Each track brings a different mood to the album, taking listeners through Panther’s ideas of ambition, loyalty and love. ‘Rahees’ is a swagger filled anthem about hustle, luxury and success driven by ambition and the desire to build something for yourself, while still holding his values, brotherhood and a dedication to music. ‘Mijaaz’ turns towards the mindset behind the journey, bringing together hustle, ambition and self made success with family, relationships and struggles that shape who you become along the way. ‘Thikana’ takes a softer turn exploring longing, falling in love and the feeling of finding a sense of home and belonging in another person. Together, the three tracks move from what you want, to what keeps you grounded and what ultimately gives you a sense of belonging, creating an album that captures Panther across his drive, identity and love.
Speaking about ‘Charag’, Panther said
“I think there is a lot more to me than just the Panther people see on stage. Charag gave me a chance to put some of those ideas out there. ‘Rahees’ is my hunger, ‘Mijaaz’ is my journey and the people who’ve been part of it, and ‘Thikana’ is the softer side that I don’t always show. These songs come from very different places, but they’re all me. That’s why I wanted them to live together as one album.”
With Charag, Panther continues to bring together confidence, introspection and vulnerability, allowing the three tracks to stand as one complete album and a more personal expression of the artist.
