Mumbai, India Apr 20: Amazon MX Player, India’s leading free, premium, ad-supported video streaming service, returns with Season 2 of Battleground which is not just bigger and bolder, but also raises stakes higher than ever. Following an extensive audition process, the Battleground Season 2 house has officially welcomed its top 16 contestants, who will now be pushed to their limits across tests of strength, strategy, and endurance. Produced by Rusk Media, the new season ups the competitive intensity while introducing a refreshed leadership lineup.
Returning to the arena are fan favourites Fukra Insaan who will be seen leading the way for Delhi Dominators and Shikhar Dhawan, who reprises his role as Superselector, bringing sharp insight and seasoned guidance to the competition. While bringing in a fresh perspective is a dynamic set of new mentors who are not just here to shake things up but also raise the bar for competition – Mumbai Strikers, led by Priyanka Chahar Choudhary, Bhojpuri Bhaukaals, led by Khesari Lal and Telugu Tigers, led by Rahul Chaudhari.
Following the high-pressure audition rounds, the mentors locked in their final picks, forming four distinct teams from the selected 16 contestants. Mumbai Strikers, led by Priyanka Chahar Choudhary, picked Rekha Chaudhary, Tanishk Mahajan, Kajal Singh Rajput and Sujan Shekhawat. Bhojpuri Bhaukaals, led by Khesari Lal, includes Sachin (Max) Yadav, Geetika Sood, Divyanshu Singh Rajput and Twinkle Chourasia. Delhi Dominators, led by Fukra Insaan, sees Rishabh Sachdeva, Tarun Solanki, Sneha Tomar and Smriti Singh, while Telugu Tigers, led by Rahul Chaudhari, consists of Sayam Gupta, Rohit Singh, Gunman Sharma and Muskan Sheikh. Each team now enters the battleground with a balanced mix of strength and strategy, setting the tone for an intense showdown ahead.
Adding a playful twist to the weekend episode and bringing in her elements of fun, Priyanka Chahar Choudhary introduced a cheeky game of “Love, Kill, Hook-up,” which not only turned heads among the contestants but also left Khesari Lal laughing, as the two indulged in some light-hearted banter. Their fun chemistry continued as Priyanka added “Jo dil hum aapka jeet liye wahi dil lagayenge”, to which Khesari quips, “Hum Battleground mein aaye the manzil leke, aaye the ek lekar jaayenge double dil lekar”, hinting at the show’s mix of pyaar aur vaar.
However, the fun does not last long, as the game swiftly turns into its first power play and mentors and contestants perform together with most calling Priyanka Chahar Choudhary’s Mumbai Strikers as a weak competition. The first challenge, Ball Baazi, tests teamwork and endurance through a time-based task involving water tanks and coordinated basketball passes, featuring face-offs between Bhojpuri Bhaukaals vs Mumbai Strikers and Delhi Dominators vs Telugu Tigers. The task sees rising tension as Fukra Insaan takes a dig at Priyanka’s team of cheating, he says, “Yeh cheating kr rhi hai ball pairon se hila rhi hai, uske baad fenk rhi hai, uske baad harr tareeke ki cheating ho rhi hai idhr”.
Leading the competition are Delhi Dominators, followed by Mumbai Strikers and Telugu Tigers, earning credits of 1.5 lakh, ₹1 lakh, and ₹50,000 respectively putting Khesari Lal’s Bhojpuri Bhaukaal’s at the bottom of the table. Things just did not stop there, Fukra Insaan also praised his favorite Naagin- Priyanka Chahar Choudhary on her mentorship on the very first task, he stated,“The way Priyanka played woh bahot amazing tha aur uske andr usne puri jaan jhok di.” While this exchange continues to add the bitter sweet moments between the two mentors, things quickly took a turn when a major twist with the Captaincy Buzzer, was introduced where the contestants must race to become team captains, securing previously earned credits and unlocking further strategic advantages in the game. With stakes running high and competition intensifying, everyone has their eyes on captaincy, but the real question is who will survive what’s coming next?
