The Delhi edition witnessed a strong audience response across both days, with a footfall of over 13,000 attendees. The musical line-up moved seamlessly across genres and languages, with Day One featuring Baby Jean, The Raghu Dixit Project, Sooraj Santhosh and Karthik, alongside traditional and contemporary cultural experiences including Kalaripayattu and Chenda x Dhol.

Day Two continued the celebration with performances by Shobana, Padma Shri awardee Bharatanatyam dancer and acclaimed actress, Arya Dhayal, Aksomaniac, Masala Coffee and Thaikkudam Bridge, interspersed with the powerful rhythms of Chenda x Dhol. Thaikkudam Bridge, who returned to the South Side Story stage for the eighth consecutive year, brought the Delhi edition to a high-energy close.

Beyond the main stage, audiences experienced the many textures of South Indian culture through Kalaripayattu, Chenda and Dhol, Bharatanatyam and Kathakali showcases, alongside the 20+ dish Onam Sadhya and a selection of curated food and beverage experiences.

Reflecting on her participation in the Delhi edition, Shobana, Padma Shri awardee Bharatanatyam dancer and acclaimed actress, said,

“South Indian culture has always had so many forms of expression, from dance and music to storytelling and tradition. What makes South Side Story special is the way it brings these different forms together and allows them to be experienced by audiences from different backgrounds and generations. It was wonderful to be part of this celebration and to see the audience respond so warmly to the performances and the wider cultural experience.”

Reflecting on his experience at the festival, rapper Baby Jean, said,

“South Side Story brings together so many different sounds and audiences in one space, and that makes performing here special. The energy from Delhi was incredible, and it was exciting to see audiences connect with contemporary South Indian music alongside so many other forms of expression. Festivals like this create a space where new sounds can reach wider audiences while staying rooted in where they come from.”

A key highlight of the festival was Hocco Spotlight, which provided a platform for emerging artists, with winners ThamBUraan and AARAA taking the stage across the two days. Our digital-twin partner AskSila added an AI-led technology-led layer to the festival, allowing audiences to create their AI twins and participate in an interactive “Scan. Twin. Win.” experience, with lucky winners getting the opportunity to meet artists backstage and take home signed posters.

Speaking about the conclusion of the Delhi edition, Nisha Narayanan, Director & COO, Red FM, said,

“South Side Story has always been more than just a music festival but it’s a living, breathing celebration of South Indian culture. Over these two days, Delhi didn’t just watch but they immersed themselves in every layer of the experience. Padma Bhushan Dr. Shobana once again brought incredible grace to the stage alongside Karthik’s soulful voice and electrifying energy with breakout artist Aksomaniac performing for the first time alongside so many artists who have built and grown with this platform. This is what South Side Story is really about: creating a space where different genres and art forms can meet and find new audiences, from rock, pop, folk and R&B to performing arts, food, literature, cinema and immersive authentic experiences. That cultural cross-pollination is what makes these moments so rewarding, and the audience and partner response has been deeply heartening. Pune welcomed us warmly, Delhi gave us two unforgettable days, and now, Bengaluru – we are coming!”

The wider programming featured literary sessions, art installations and cultural showcases, further strengthening South Side Story’s identity as a platform that brings together multiple facets of South Indian culture under one roof.

The eighth year of South Side Story continues to mark the evolution of the property from a music-led festival into a larger cultural platform celebrating the sounds, stories, food, art and contemporary expressions of South India. Following its maiden Pune edition earlier this month and the Delhi celebration, the festival will travel to Bengaluru on November 28, 2026.
