Chandigarh, May 8: CPDL has initiated SCADA-based remote operations at select substations as part of its ongoing efforts towards modernization and strengthening of the power distribution network.

The inauguration of the initiative was carried out today at the CPDL Command Centre, Sector 18, in the presence of Director Arun Kumar Verma, Chief Transformation Officer (CTO) Pramod Kumar Mishra, Chief Network Officer (CNO) MP Singh, GM (Operations) Anomitra Dhali, and other senior dignitaries, with the inaugural SCADA command operations being executed by the Director.

The initiative is aimed at enhancing centralized monitoring and operational response capabilities, enabling faster system operations, improved coordination, and better visibility of the electricity network in real time.

This development is expected to contribute towards quicker operational response during faults and emergencies, better load management across networks, improved reliability of power supply, and enhanced overall service delivery for consumers.

The present implementation marks the beginning of phased SCADA command operations, which shall be expanded progressively across the network in future stages.
