Bengaluru, June 2: Dr. Bhargav Mallappa, Chairman of the Akhila Sevak Samaj Council (ASSC), has extended his heartfelt congratulations to senior Congress leader and Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar on being chosen as the Congress Legislative Party (CLP) Leader and the state’s next Chief Minister.

Congratulating Shivakumar on his elevation to the top post, Dr. Mallappa said the decision reflects the confidence and trust reposed in his leadership, organizational capabilities, and long-standing commitment to public service.
“Shri D.K. Shivakumar has worked tirelessly for the people of Karnataka and has demonstrated remarkable leadership throughout his public life. His understanding of grassroots issues and commitment to development make him well-positioned to guide the state forward. I extend my best wishes to him for a successful tenure as Chief Minister,” Dr. Mallappa said.
Recalling his own association with the Congress party at the grassroots level in Karnataka, Dr. Mallappa noted that he has closely witnessed Shivakumar’s political journey and his strong connect with party workers and citizens across the state.
He expressed confidence that Karnataka would continue its path of inclusive growth, social welfare, infrastructure development, and economic progress under Shivakumar’s leadership.
As National Chairman of the Akhila Sevak Samaj Council and National Deputy Chairman of the People Forum of India Dr. Mallappa has been actively involved in grassroots development initiatives benefiting rural communities. Through various education, healthcare, and social welfare outreach programmes across Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala, he has contributed to improving the lives of more than 10,000 individuals, particularly in underserved regions.
Dr. Mallappa has also worked extensively toward farmer empowerment through sustainable agricultural practices, capacity-building programmes, improved market access, and financial inclusion initiatives aimed at strengthening rural livelihoods.
Expressing optimism about the future, Dr. Mallappa said he hopes the new government will continue prioritizing rural development, farmer welfare, youth empowerment, quality education, healthcare accessibility, and inclusive growth, ensuring that the benefits of development reach every section of society.
