JS Water Energy Life Delivers Up to 85 percentage Pollution Reduction in Punjab Water Restoration Project: International Study Validates Technology

Punjab/Gurugram, July 15: JS Water Energy Life  an environmental biotechnology company, has announced the publication of a peer-reviewed scientific study validating the effectiveness of its proprietary biological and nanotechnology-driven wastewater remediation technology deployed at the Jayanti Ki Rao Channel in Kharar, Punjab. Published in the international journal Environmental Monitoring and Assessment, the study highlights significant improvements in water quality achieved during the intervention period.

JS Water Energy Life Delivers Up to 85% Pollution Reduction in Punjab Water Restoration Project: International Study Validates Technology

Conducted over a one-year assessment period on the 47 MLD  wastewater channel, the study evaluated the impact of JS Wel’s remediation technology in treating water affected by industrial effluents, municipal sewage, and agricultural runoff. The findings demonstrate significant improvements across key water quality parameters, reinforcing the effectiveness of nature-based wastewater remediation under real-world conditions.

According to the published study, the intervention recorded up to 85 percentage reduction in Biological Oxygen Demand up to 79 percentage reduction in Chemical Oxygen Demand46 percentage reduction in ammoniacal nitrogen, and 30 percentage reduction in total nitrogen. It also observed a nearly 20-fold increase in dissolved oxygen levels and a seven-fold increase in beneficial microalgae population, indicating substantial improvements in the ecological health of the channel during the study period.

The intervention utilized JS Wel’s proprietary formulations – Aquaritin, a nano-enabled nutrient technology that promotes the growth of beneficial diatoms and microalgae, and Bioritin, a microbial consortium that accelerates the natural degradation of organic pollutants. Together, these technologies harness biological processes to improve water quality while offering a sustainable, low-carbon alternative to conventional wastewater treatment methods.

The findings demonstrate the potential of biological and nanotechnology-driven remediation as a scalable solution for improving water quality across rivers, drains, lakes, ponds, and canals, while supporting environmental conservation, water reuse, and long-term water sustainability.

Commenting on the publication, Commodore (Dr.) Sunil Nanda, Founder & Managing Director, JS Water Energy Life, said:

“India’s growing water challenges require solutions that are scientifically validated, environmentally sustainable, and scalable. The publication of this peer-reviewed study marks an important milestone in demonstrating the effectiveness of our biological and nanotechnology-driven approach under real-world conditions. The findings reinforce the potential of nature-based solutions to significantly improve water quality while supporting the restoration of polluted water bodies. We remain committed to working with governments, industries, and communities to advance sustainable water management across the country.”

The publication of the study reinforces JS Water Energy Life‘s commitment to advancing science-backed wastewater remediation technologies and contributes to the growing body of evidence supporting nature-based solutions for restoring polluted water ecosystems.
