May,29: Nike has announced the successful completion of its inaugural Air Works research, development, and design program, bringing together emerging designers from major creative hubs including Beijing, London, Los Angeles, Mumbai, New York, Paris, Shanghai, and Tokyo at its global headquarters.
The program connected individual designers with Nike mentors to co-create distinctive 3D-printed Air Max silhouettes, developed in partnership with Zellerfeld, reflecting personal stories, cultural identity, and community inspiration from around the world.
Air Works builds on Nike’s 40-year legacy of Air innovation, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to shaping the future of design through collaboration with the communities that wear its products.
Global Launch Schedule Announced
Following the conclusion of the inaugural program, Nike has revealed the rollout timeline for each designer’s limited-run, friends-and-family releases:
- July: Motoi Hatsuki (Tokyo)
- August: Tasnim (London)
- September: Marc Su (Beijing)
- October: Masyn (Los Angeles)
- November: Diya Joukani (Mumbai)
- December: Jose Wong (Shanghai)
- January 2027: Yams (Paris)
- February 2027: Omi (New York City)
Each release will be celebrated within local communities over the coming year, leading into Air Max Day 2027.
Expanding Innovation with Air Max 1000
In addition, Nike announced that the Air Max 1000 will be introduced as a Nike By You offering later this year, further extending its commitment to personalized, co-created footwear innovation.
