India, 13th october 2025: Every month on the 14th, Malaka Spice continues its much-loved tradition of Lights Out an evening that celebrates sustainability, mindful dining, and the charm of candlelight. On this special night, the restaurant switches off all non-essential lights and is illuminated entirely by the soft glow of re-used candles, each crafted from repurposed wax. The result is a warm, intimate atmosphere that invites guests to slow down and savour their meal in a serene, eco-conscious setting.
Over the years, Lights Out has become one of Malaka Spice’s signature experiences a reminder that memorable dining can also be gentle on the planet.
Guests can enjoy their favourite Malaka classics alongside dishes from the restaurant’s newly launched Malaysian menu, introduced to mark Malaka Spice’s 28th anniversary. Inspired by the vibrant flavours of Penang, this menu highlights Peranakan and Nyonya influences with signature creations like Asam Laksa, Jackfruit Rendang, Malaysian Fried Chicken, Ayam Bakar, and Rojak Salad, all prepared using fresh, locally sourced produce, much of it coming directly from Malaka’s own Cherish Farm.
So, step into the tranquil glow of Lights Out at Malaka Spice and experience a night where flavour meets purpose a perfect blend of sustainability, community, and culinary artistry.
